STD (Sexually transmitted deseases) is an umbrella term for deseases spread by sexual activity, most commonly sexual intercourse. Pathogens may be unicellular organisms, viruses, bacteria, fungi and parasites. The most common is HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) which may have symptoms on male and female genitals, around the anus as well as on the oral mucosa.

Symptoms of the desease are itching, genital discharge, or congenital abnormality. General symptoms include fever, fatigue, indisposition, swelling of the lymphatic glands. In other cases, it may not cause any symptoms at all.

The examination is recommended to be performed to the partner as well, to prevent recurring infection.

After the interrogation, the specialist examines the area of trouble. After taking sample of the genital discharge, the doctor sends it to special investigation. Regular control is essential during the treatment. To prevent the patient from developing infertility, it is vital for them not to be the carrier of the virus.
